legend says thomas alva edison was the first to say 'hello'over the phone. but he didn't invent the word. "hello" had been used anywhere for centuries. a long time before the invention of telephone in 1885.
in ancient times, people greeted each other with "hallow". it may have come from the word 'hola', an old french word. it means 'stop'. when americans began to use telephone, they said 'hullo' to each other.
alexander graham bell, the inventor of telephone, never like the word "hello". he preferred to use 'ahoy'.
the more people use telephone, the more popular the word 'hello' was. webster dictionary always used it as a greeting word.

I am used to trvelling by air and only on one occasion have i ever felt frightened. After taking off, we flew low over the city. It slowlywent high to the sky.
But, suddenly it turned round and flew back to the airport. An airhostess tpld us to keep calm and to get off the plane quietly as soon as, it touched down. Everybody on board was worried and we were corious to find out what happened. Later we learnt that there was a very important erson on board. Earlier somebody told the police that there was a bomb on the plane.
After we landed, the police searched the plane carefully.
Fortunatelythey did not find a bomb and five hours later we were able to take off again.

HI, I'm Jack Baner. I'm a secret agent, but i'm here on vocation. Guess what happened to me. I almost forget my identity.
I arrived at the airport in the afternoon. The flight was not really good. So I only had a little sleep. Nobody picked me up, so I took a taxi to the hotel. I asked the driver to take me to the hotel my agent had reserved.
At the hotel I went directly to the receptionist desk. I told her that I had reserved a room. After a minute she looked at me and said that nobody had reserved under Jack Baner. And the hotel was full. I thought there was something wrong. But what could I do?
Then I went to a public phone. I called my travel agent back at my country and told about my problem. I was surprised to know that the problem was so simple. They reserved a room at this hotel under Johny Goodbye, my alias. I am a secret agent, remember?
I was so embarrassed. I shouldn't have forgotten my alias.

Once upon a time, there was a Kingdom in Java. One day, there was a big battle in that Kingdom because there was an attack from another Kingdom. The King asked his Queen to save her life. Alas! In the middle of the jungle the enemy killed all her guards. The queen was lucky because she could save hr life by changing herself into a golden snail. Oneday an old woman saw the snail and took in home. She looked after it. Every time the old woman was not at home, the snail turned into human being. She cooked and did the household chores. When the old woman got home, the queen quickly turned into a snail again. It happened several times and made the old woman curious. One day the old woman peeped and saw what was going on. She broke in, immediately. She asked, "Why did you change yourself into a snail?" The queen told her what had heppened. The old woman was suprised to know that the snail was a queen. later,from the head of the village they discovered that had the king won the battle and now he was looking for his wife. Then the village head sent a message to the king telling him that his wife was safe. Several days later, the King and his guards came to pick up the queen. They thanked the villagers for their kindness.

one night a fairy godmother came and made the doll become alive. gepetto was very happy. however pinochio was very naughty. when he had go to school he played truant. when he had to go to the market. he stole some food from the store. he cheated and lied frequently.
one day a magician took him away. from that moment pinochio was in a very dangerous adventure. gepetto tried to resque him. they met inside the belly of a whale. this made pinocchio realizze that his father loved him very much,and that he had caused a lot of problems for him. pinochio struggled bravely and did good things.
finally the fairy godmother blessed him and changed hinm into a real boy pinochio and his father lived happily ever after

when people came to mill their grain, it turn into gold at first they were happy because they had a lot of gold.however after several weeks. there was no flour in the village. only gold everywhere everybody was hungry and unhappy
one day jack was cleaning his house suddenly he found abowl of flour he cooked and ate it. mmmhhh.....it delicious porridge oh i miss the flour i wish all the gold would turn into flour again he murmured. suddenly all the gold turned into flour every body was happy

beauty and the beast
once upon time there was a young prince who lived in magnificent castle.One cold night,an woman offered him a rose in exchange for shelter.The Prince,repulsed by her appearance,sent her away.She then transformed herself into a beautiful enchantress and put a spell on the Prince and his entire castle to punish him for his selfishness.She gave him a magic mirror and an enchanted rose.The flower would bloom until his 21st birtday.If by that day, the Prince was not shown true love despite beastly appearance,he would remain a beast forever.
Many years have passed.Not far from the castle,in a small village lived a beautiful young woman named Belle.She was so preocupied by her book that she didn't notice Gaston,the village's most "eligible bachelor",Gaston had vowed to make Belle his wife for she was the only one truly worthy of his good looks.Belle's father was an inventor named Maurice.That day,he was on his way to a inventor's fair.He waved goodbye to his daughter as he entered the forrest with his trusted horse Philippe.
But Maurice got lost and found himself in a dark frightening part of the path.Suddenly a pack of wolves jumped out of the shadows and started racing after the poor old man.In his haste,Maurice fell off the horse and was face to face with the menacing wolves.He spotted a strange castle nearby and scrambled to safety.When he entered the castle,he heard strange noises.It was Lumiere and Cogsworth a few of the Prince's servants under the enchantress'spell.They gave him a warm blanket and placed him in front of the large fireplace where he met Mrs.Potts and her son Chip But not all the castle residents were hospitable.The beast entered the room enraged that there was an intruder and carried Maurice away.
Later at the village Belle saw Philippe outside and alone. Worried, she asked him to lead her to her father. She arrived at the castle and called out her father's name but there was no answer. She finally found him a locked up in a small dungeon. Just then, the beast entered. Belle pleaded that he release him and offered that she would take him place. The beast accepted an set Maurice free. When Maurice returned to the village, he told everyone what he had see but no one believed him. At the castle, the beast gave Belle a lovely room to stay in and offered a warning ;"You may visit the castle as you please, but you are forbidden to go into the west wing."The beast asked her to dine with him that night but when she refused, he told her that she wouldn't have a bite to eat. But the appliences served her a magnifient banquet despite the Beast's ordered.
Later, Belle went exploring the castle and against the Beast's restriction, visited the west wing. When the beast found her there, he was in a fit of rage and ordered her to get out. Belle ran away into the woods when a pack of wolves attacked her. But the beast had followed her and protected her from the animals. Belle and the beast then returned to the castle together and Belle tended to his wounds. As the days went by, they became friends. Belle read to him and showed him how to dance. But Belle seemed sad, she was worried about her father. The beast gave her the magic mirror and she saw her father. He was alone in the forrest looking for her and he was sick. The beast let her go to help him. Back at the village, Belle cared for her father.Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. It was Gaston and almost all the villagers. He told Belle that if she refused to marry him he would have her father locked up in the loon."He is crazy!"he said,"He was ranting about a giant beast!"To prove her father wasn't crazy, Belle held up the mirror and showed them the beast. Gaston was so jealous that he encouraged all the villagers to go kill the beast."It is a monster! He will surely devoure us all!"Gaston led the way with an army of villagers.
Gaston fought the beast high atop the towers of the castle. The beast didn't entered defend himself. He missed Belle. But she had come to save him."Beast!"she entered.When he heard her voice, he felt his strength return. He grabbed Gaston by the beast and told him to get out. When the beast had his back turned, Gaston stabbed him lost his balance and fell to his doom. Belle tried to comfort the wounded beast was hopeless. She begged him not to leave her."No,don't die.I love you."Suddenly, the beast transformed into a handsome prince. The spell was broken! Belle and lived happily ever after. THE END

Yesterday afternoon Frank Hawkins was telling me about his experiences as young man. Frank is now the head of a very large company, but as a boy he used to work in a small shop.It was his jop to repair bicycles and at that time he used tu work fourteen hours a day.He saved money for years and in 1938 he bought a small workshop of his own. during the war Frank made spare parts for aeroplanes.At that time he had two helpers.By the of war, the small workshop had become a large factory, which employed seven hundred and twenty eaght people.Frank smiled when he remembered his hard early years and the long toad to success.
today child abuse is a serious problem. particularly it has been increain rapidly in advanced nations.
child abuse is mistreatment or neglect of children resultin in injury or harm. there are four types phisycal abuse emotional abuse sexual abuseand neglect. all of these hurt a child min and body deeply. many children are exposed to life threatening danger or mental disorder.
a child abuser is usually a person closely releated to the child such as a parent step parent or other caretaker. the child abuser is seldom a total stanger.
there is no clear bordeline between discipline and abuse. but all acts that hurt a child mind and body and disturb their healthy growth are regarded as abuse.
child abuise can happen anywhere such as in the family. school day care center etc. therefore child abuse is a social problem and all of us should make an effort to selve it.

in many schools and school system in almost every country poor children are discriminated against humilited and often brutally terated. wherever schools allow what they call corporal punishmant it is poor children who get beaten the most and the worst. in all school and school system that employ division for children based on the so called ability the poor children are almost always in the lower tracks. the poor children are put into the lowest track almost from the moment they enter school. once in, they have little chance of gettin out.
